Dr. Tony Madril, DSW, LCSW is a doctorate-level licensed clinical social worker. He completed his Doctor of Clinical Social Work degree at the University of Pennsylvania in 2021 and his Master of Social Work degree at the University of Denver in 1997 and has 25 years of post-graduate mental health experience as well as several years of specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Flash Technique, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) from the EMDR Institute, the Center for Deployment Psychology, UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center, and UC San Diego’s Center for Mindfulness.
Dr. Madril is an adjunct clinical professor of trauma studies at the University of Denver, Graduate School of Social Work and is writing about his research findings related to innovative mindfulness-based approaches to treating trauma in veterans. He is an active member of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and the EMDR International Association. He specializes in treating adults with symptoms of PTSD, complex trauma, and anxiety via videoconferencing and in-person appointments in his Los Angeles office and online for Colorado residents.
Dr. Madril’s experience includes providing skills-based trainings to organizations on the intersection between mindfulness meditation and the prevention of vicarious trauma and empathic distress in the workplace. In addition, he provides trauma-informed clinical supervision to Associate Clinical Social Workers throughout Southern California.
